Vintage Benni Ourain Rugs
Moroccan Beni Ourain carpets are woven from un-dyed natural wool and traditionally decorated with brown/grey/black geometric designs. Made by nomadic tribes people, these rugs are elegantly simple in design, representing the sparse surrounds of the Moroccan landscape. The long shaggy pile of natural un-dyed wool, feels incredible under bare foot.
Beni Ourain rugs are woven from the natural ivory sheep wool that covers the sheep's body, the pattern is woven from the wool on the sheep's head, it looks black, but it is not, it is either dark brown, or light brown. Sheep with jet black wool on their heads are very rare!
